MK Ayman Odeh on The Role of Palestinian Citizens of Israel in the Pursuit of Peace
Moderated by Dr. Lihi Ben Shitrit

MK Odeh will speak about his experiences as a Palestinian citizen of Israel and as a Member of Knesset in these challenging times, and about his work pursuing Arab-Jewish partnership, equality, and peace between Israelis and Palestinians.

MK Ayman Odeh (Hadash-Ta’al party) has been a Member of Knesset since 2015, when he formed and led the Joint List—the largest Arab political alliance in Israel’s history—to ensure Arab citizens of Israel had an impactful voice in Israel’s political system. At the end of this current term, MK Odeh will be leaving party politics to grow a movement that will build on the potential of Palestinian citizens of Israel to expand the peace-camp and demonstrate that there is a partner for peace on both sides.

Dr. Lihi Ben Shitrit is the Henry Taub Associate Professor and Director of the Taub Center for Israel Studies at NYU. She writes on gender, religion, and politics in the Middle East and is the author of several books, including The Gates of Gaza: Critical Voices from Israel on October 7 and the War with Hamas. She holds a PhD from Yale University.
