Film Screening: No Other Land

Awdah al-Hathaleen, a Palestinian English teacher and activist featured in the Oscar-winning documentary “No Other Land,” was killed last month by Yinon Levi, a violent settler who was sanctioned by the Biden Government. B’Tselem released a video and report of the unfolding events. See more in the Guardian.

Join us for a private screening of “No Other Land”, which shows the struggle of the villagers living in Masafer Yata, a collection of 19 villages in the south Hebron hills, who are threatened by Israeli soldiers and settlers. In the film, an alliance develops between the Palestinian activist Basel Adra and Israeli journalist Yuval Avraham, resisting through nonviolence the attacks of both settlers and the army.

After the screening, we will have a conversation with Sam Fleischacker, Professor of Philosophy at the University of Illinois, Chicago, who recently returned from several weeks in the West Bank, where he participated in the Protective Presence program
