Michael Sfard is renowned as one of Israel's leading human rights lawyers and activists. He specializes in international human rights law and the laws of war, with a special emphasis on the laws of belligerent occupation. He is the author of six books including most recently Occupation From Within: A Journey to the Roots of the Constitutional Coup (2025) (Hebrew) and The Wall and the Gate: Israel, Palestine and the Legal Battle for Human Rights (2018).
