Operations & Administrative Coordinator (Part-Time)

Location: NYC-area, in-person 2-3 days a week
Position Type: Part Time (25–30 hours/week, some evenings/weekends)
Compensation: $25–$35/hour (commensurate with experience)
Anticipated start date: June 15 (flexible)

About the Role

This part-time role is ideal for someone organized, proactive, and detail-oriented who wants to play a central role in supporting our day-to-day operations and programming. You’ll work closely with our team to ensure that logistics, systems, and communication run smoothly across all areas of our work.

We’re looking for someone who can take initiative, anticipate needs, and proactively troubleshoot challenges, while also knowing when to ask questions and seek input—helping move projects forward with care and consistency.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Coordinating logistics for and helping plan events and programs, including registration, materials, communication, and follow-up (with potential to take on a larger role in shaping events)

  • Helping run in-person and virtual programming, including some evening and weekend hours

  • Managing and maintaining internal systems (contact lists, RSVPs, spreadsheets, and databases)

  • Updating and maintaining our website (Squarespace) with current events and content

  • Handling organizational communications and email coordination

  • Working to strengthen relationships with and support our partners and emerging local chapters

What We’re Looking For

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and reliable

  • A self-starter who takes initiative, troubleshoots independently, asks for help when needed, and collaborates closely with a small team through regular check-ins and shared problem-solving.

  • Comfortable managing multiple tasks and shifting priorities

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Familiarity with tools like Google Drive and Sheets as well as Canva. Experience with Squarespace is a plus (or a willingness to learn quickly)

  • Commitment to the mission of Smol Emuni US is a plus
